Damon Waters is a Life Scout with Troop 77. He has started working on his Eagle Scout Award and shared the project details with the club during our morning meeting.

Damon's project is going to be a monument dedicated to the memory of all of the Native Americans that lost their lives on the Trail of Tears march. The first phase of the monument was completed and it was dedicated on August 26th of 2006. It is located at the Old Stone Church in Ringgold.

For the second phase Damon would like to raise more funds and have a bronze plaque made to add to the monument. This plate would indicate that Damon and Troop 77 built the monument and that the troop is sponsored by the Ringgold Kiwanis Club.
