Kiwanis Club of Ringgold came together in the last five weeks for three separate special events, which raised approximately $10,000, to help with projects the club supports throughout the year.

These Kiwanis fundraisers give the club the ability it to support numerous Catoosa County service projects such as Habitat for Humanity, Catoosa County Children’s Fund, scholarships, assistance to the needy and many other projects.

Initially, through a Spaghetti Supper hosted at the Ringgold Depot, the club raised $2,300 targeted to assist with the Little General Family and Children’s Park which will be donated in honor of late Councilman J.B. Petty.

The club’s 19th Annual Golf Tournament held May 9 at Windstone Golf Club brought together a numerous golfers and sponsors for a day of fun that raised about $7,000. The winning team represented Delivery One including Chris Williams, Sam Hunt, Tony Bailey and Joe Pleva. Second place went to Tommy Holcomb, Gene Lowery, Jeff Hullender and Jim Hughes; Jason Boehm, Kenneth Bennett, Joe Ellis and Jimmy Dean placed third; and Gary Meadows, Greg Gibson, Wes Gilbert and Mitch Warren ended in fourth place.

The events were rounded out with the annual Pancake Breakfast at 1890s Days Jamboree May 26, which raised approximately $1,000.

The club awarded three $1,500 scholarships in May 22 to Ringgold High School graduates Ashton Robins, who is now attending Kennesaw, Kaley Yarbrough, who will attend University of Georgia at Athens, and Lindsey Potter, who will attend Covenant College.
